HR1: Evolution of stars

Evolution of stars (interpolating grid of stellar models).

The HR1 program presents an evolution of stars by interpolating grid of stellar models, computed at Geneva Observatory by Schaller et al. (1992). It can run in an interactive mode, for example in the Xwindow environment, or in batch mode, producing separate images in various formats (e.g., GIF, PostScript).

The code is written in FORTRAN77, using PGPLOT library for graphics I/O. Look at screenshots.

Download and installation

The latest version is Sep 30th 1998. You can find binary distributions in this directory. I provide these ports
README 4 kB Sep 30 1998 text file
  hr1.bin-linux.tar.gz 168 kB Sep 30 1998 Linux/2.0.32/RH5.0/fvwm
  hr1.bin-sun4.tar.gz 216 kB Sep 29 1998 SUN/Sparc/SunOS5.5
  hr1.bin-win95.zip 274 kB Sep 29 1998 Win95/98/NT
  hr1.src.tar.gz 120 kB Dec 20 2006 source files
Before executing the hr1 program, you have to set up PATH and PGPLOT_DIR environment variables to the directory, where pgplot_server and grfont.dat are situated.

The second possibility is to build your own binaries suitable for your operating system. Download the source file hr1.src.tar.gz, install the PGPLOT library, don't forget set up PGPLOT_DIR properly, choose tables by editing file hrpack.in, edit Makefile, and run make.
