About me

As an astrophysicist, I am driven by my curiosity to understand the intriguing nature of the universe. My passion has guided me through many academic milestones, culminating in 2019 with a PhD in Theoretical Physics, Astronomy and Astrophysics from Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic.

In the Fall of 2019, I was offered a short-term part-time research position at the Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Then, in the Summer of 2020, I moved to the United States for a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Astronomy, Indiana University Bloomington (IU), where I stayed until 2023. For the academic year 2022–2023, I was also appointed with a visiting professorship at the Physics Department, IU, as the primary lecturer for two undergraduate courses, see also Teaching.

After my return to the Czech Republic in June 2023, I worked as an Associate Scientific Editor at Aventinum Publishing House, Prague.

Since January 2024, I have been back at the Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences as a researcher, where my current position is funded from Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions COFUND – "MERIT" (Mobility for Excellence in Research, Innovation and Technology), see also Research

Alongside my research, I have more than a decade of experiences with public outreach and education activities. I am a Board Member of the Czech Astronomy Olympiad and an Editor of the Czech magazine Astropis for popularising astronomy and space explorations. From January 2018 to August 2020, concurrently with my doctoral studies and later postdoctoral appointment, I worked as a full-time staff Educator & Specialist at the Prague Planetarium (Planetum).
