v6 vs. pre-v6 extraction from the MB

Calculation of g6 from numerical integration: arithmetic average of Saturns d varpi/d t over ~5 Myr is 28.2457 arcsec/yr (it is necessary to take an integer number of slowest oscillations of dotvarpi, otherwise the value differs by max. 10-2 arcsec/yr), good agreenment with analytic value of g6 = 28.24552984 arcsec/yr (Milani & Knezevic, 1997), ie. relative error 10-5.

Histogram of d varpi/d t at the time when TPs become Mars crossers: run flora-78 = fragments ejected from Flora, R = 100 and 500 m, basaltic thermal properties.

- images for individual particles (GIFs): (a, e), a(t) and dotvarpi(t)

The values of dotvarpi are "clustered around" the nominal value of g6, the average 27.7 arcsec/yr is slightly lower, but no significat "shift" could be observed. Unexpectedly, the bin (28.25, 28.5) arcsec/yr is NOT populated. The histogram will be updated after runs flora-6b and hebe-6b will finish.

6 particles were discarded from the plot, because their value of dotvarpi was too different from g6. See discard.txt (format: time of MC [Myr] & varpi & dotvarpi at that time & TP designation). Most of those TPs (5) became MCs very quickly, during one or two secular cycles. However, particle no. 8 (initially captured in z2 resonance) was considered as MC even after ~18 Myr - see (a, e), a(t) and dotvarpi(t) plots.

Histogram with different MC criterion: q < 1.665 AU and using 0.5 Myr averaging of osculating elements, which is used in "decay plots" for comparsion with Monte-Carlo model. Please note larger x-axis scale than in previous figure.
