Rovnice vedení tepla ve fyzice planetek a meteoroidů Heat diffusion equation in the physics of asteroids and meteoroids Často diskutovanou aplikací rovnice vedení tepla ve fyzice planetek a meteoroidů je vliv tepelné emise záření s povrchu na oběžný a otáčivý pohyb těchto těles (sekulární projevy nazýváme Jarkovského/YORP efekt). Například tepelnými jevy vysvětlujeme existenci planetek na nestabilních dráhách, strukturu rodin planetek, transport meteoroidů k Zemi. Úkolem studenta by bylo: 1) stručně popsat matematickou strukturu rovnice vedení tepla a tvar vhodných počátečních a okrajových podmínek; 2) odhadnout teplotní poměry na povrchu tělesa tvořeného materiálem s velkou anebo malou tepelnou vodivostí (lze užít analytické nebo numerické metody); 3) vypracovat přehled různých dynamických procesů ve sluneční soustavě, kde tepelné jevy hrají významnou úlohu. Volitelně může student popsat základní principy numerických řešení parciálních diferenciálních rovnic metodami konečných diferencí (FDM), konečných objemů (FVM) a konečných prvků (FEM), a také testovat existující počítačový kód (ve Fotranu 90) pro numerické řešení 1-rozměrné rovnice vedení tepla explicitní a implicitní metodou FDM (spočítat závislost teploty na zvoleném časovém a prostorovém kroku). The influence of the thermal emission of radiation from the surfaces of asteroids and meteoroids on their orbital and rotational motion is a frequently discussed application of the heat diffusion equation. We call secular changes of the semimajor axis and the spin the Yarkovsky/YORP effect. The existence of asteroids on unstable orbits, structure of asteroid families or transport of meteoroids towards the Earth is explained using the thermal effects. Student should perform the following tasks: 1) to describe briefly a mathematical structure of the heat diffusion equation and suitable initial and boundary conditions; 2) estimate the temperature on the surface of a body composed of high- and low- conductivity material (it is possible to use analytical or numerical methods); 3) write an overview of various dynamical processes in the Solar System, where thermal phenomena play an important role. Optionally, the student can describe basic principles of numerical solutions of the partial differential equations by finite difference method (FDM), finite volume method (FVM) and finite element method (FEM), and also test an existing computational code (in Fortran 90) for the numerical solution of a 1-dimensional heat diffusion equation by explicit and implicit FDM (compute a dependence of the temperature on the selected temporal and spatial step). 1) Nastudovat literaturu o rovnici vedení tepla a Jarkovského/YORP jevu.
